When you install solar panels, they generate DC electricity during daylight hours. This is converted to AC electricity by your inverter and fed into your home's main panel. If your home uses less electricity than the panels are producing, the excess power flows backward through your utility meter and into the main CSPDCL grid. The CSPDCL Billing Cycle

Net Units Billed = (Total Units Imported from Grid) - (Total Units Exported to Grid)
